A tough way to start the day here with an even maiden but the form lines around Tommy Who appear strong so we are happy to put KEN’S TREASURE on top. Last start he made up some good ground late to finish third behind the impressive Grant Williams three-year-old. He is ideally drawn here in barrier one and should be handy throughout. LITTLE PUNGA is our second pick after running sixth behind Castle Queen over 1016 metres here on December 2. The Simon Foster-trained three-year-old is nicely drawn and should appreciate the step up in distance. IT’S A CHANCE has been racing in solid form and goes in for third. The Chance In Time gelding has drawn a bit wide solid last time in behind Royal Supreme. We’ll round out our top four with first starter EXTREME DREAMS from the Simon A. Miller yard. Miller has a knack of producing his runners rock-hard fit first up and her latest trial was nice behind the talented Prime Witness.

Tips: 1-7-2-11
Suggested Bet: (1) KENS TREASURE has drawn one and looks a safe each-way play.

It doesn’t get any easier to find a winner here but we have settled on the well-bred HINCHINBEEL on top. We liked the trial form of the son of Hinchinbrook before he debuted here on December 6 but he had plenty of excuses that day, when held up for clear running down the straight. Out of that race came Rocket Queen who has gone on to win at Belmont since so the formlines stack up very well. The Ross Price-trained three-year-old should strip fitter second up and we think he’s a nice type in the making. COOL PASSION is another coming to the track for the second time and last time in she ran a nice race behind Card Knight and those form lines have been franked since through the impressive Dendee. Drawn nicely on the inside, look for her to box seat and be right in the finish. RELUCTANT HERO is having his first start since May 2014 when finishing behind the handy I’m Feeling Lucky. Has trialed twice recently, with his latest effort a nice win at Belmont and we are happy to have the Bruce Kay-trained runner in for third. Paul Jordan appears to have a high opinion of LADY VALOREM, who competed in some high quality two-year-old races last season. She’s coming in here off just the one trial and we’ll put her in for fourth.

Tips: 6-8-5-13
Suggested Bet: We are happy to back (6) HINCHINBEEL each way here.

We’re going to give CHAMPAGNE CHARGER another chance here. The Justin Warwick three-year-old looked like one of the best bets of the day when returning to action here on December 6 but after finding the front with minimal fuss, faltered in the final 200 metres to finish third. However, we were impressed with the way she toughed it out and she clearly looks the class runner of the field. The Choisir filly will benefit immensely from that run and goes in front narrowly from STORMY NIGHT, who was absolutely huge last start. She raced off the track and came from second last to run fourth behind Rhi’s Rocket, who has gone on to win again since. The Graham Yuill runner also beat home In This Life who won here on December 6. MAMA BEAR is a first starter for Grant Williams and is our third selection. Her trial form has been okay and with William Pike on will be given every chance, while ALL SETTLED should strip fitter third up and goes in for fourth.

Tips: 7-9-12-1
Suggested Bet: (7) CHAMPAGNE CHARGER to win.

We are happy to make FLYING MOMENT our best of the day. We liked his run first up when a gallant fourth here on December 6 behind the talented Royal Supreme. The Graham Yuill runner was forced to race wide, without cover on that occasion (after drawing wide) and gets a much better draw here in a fairly moderate maiden. If jockey Kyra Yuill can get some cover just off the speed he will take a stack of beating. We will forgive the first-up effort of READY TO FIRE, when running into a handy type in Tommy Who, and put her in for second. The Justin Warwick-trained four-year-old was well supported in betting and should strip fitter second up over the longer journey. RETURN ON CAPITAL comes out of the same race as FLYING MOMENT but goes up 3kg. The step up in journey suits though and we have him in for third from a nice draw. HERO OF FAITH makes his debut for leading trainer Adam Durrant and we’ll put him in for fourth on trust alone.

Tips: 4-10-1-9
Suggested Bet: Very keen on (4) FLYING MOMENT to win.

This looks a very even affair to kick start the Quaddie (races 5 to 8). We’ve decided on DIVA ROSE on top, she’s looking to make it a hat-trick of wins and has been freshened-up nicely for this. The Bruce Watkins-trained mare was impressive when running down Bolting here on November 22 and should get a nice run just off the speed from her inner barrier, and prove hard to beat. GINGA NINJA comes through the same form line and gets a 1.5kg swing after finishing a half-length back in third. The wide barrier is a concern but if jockey Ryan Hill can slot across and get him to settle, he should get his chance. MASTER ROBSON gets the services of William Pike and goes in for third. The eight-year-old missed the kick here on December 6 and was forced to be put into the race early, before finishing under a length behind winner Abbeybell Lane. PRENTICE meets DIVA ROSE better at the weights from their last clash and goes in for fourth despite yet another bad draw. MISS GELANA is the class runner of the field but has to carry 59.5kg from out wide and the 1675-metre journey may be a shade too short.

Tips: 5-2-8-4
Suggested Bet: We can’t see (5) DIVA ROSE missing a place. Follow on an each-way basis.

We think this race looks like being run a fast tempo which should suit the backmarkers and for that reason we have gone a bit wide with our top-two selections. We’ll put MIGHTY BLONDE on top, who made a superb return to the track when a fast finishing second here on December 6. She sat second last throughout before coming around the entire field to just miss picking up the win. That was her first run in 21 months and she gets a 1kg swing in the weights on SCOTTISH TRADER, who we have in for second. The Ross Price-trained four-year-old ran the fastest final 600-metre split of the day and will again be flying home late here. Speedy type FIRE BORN makes his first appearance outside of his age group and should either lead or sit outside of PALACE CAT. His form when last in work was okay but his early three-year-old form was superb around class types such as Red Ora and Sheidel. If he can reproduce that he will take a stack of running down. FRINGED has been in solid form in stronger company that this. The Don Wall-runner has drawn perfectly in barrier one and is a genuine chance in a wide open race.

Tips: 4-7-8-2
Suggested Bet: Happy to play (4) MIGHTY BLONDE each way in a very open race.

It is hard to look past the William Pike/Grant Williams combination here with last start winner CHARLIE’S MY NAME likely to jump a short favourite but we think a rise in the weights will count against him and we are putting INCOMING TIDE on top. She finally broke her maiden status with an impressive win at Northam on December 3, coming from the back of the field, and we think the step up to 2000 metres will suit. She gets in win well at the weights with 54kg and trainer Dan Morton has been in sensational form recently. CHARLIE’S MY NAME was impressive when leading to win here over this distance on December 11, with Pike producing a gem of a ride out in front. He’ll likely go forward again but goes up to 58kg over the middle-distance journey so goes in for second. SAXAPAK will appreciate the drop in grade and goes in for third. He has finished behind a couple of smart types at his previous two Ascot runs and will get a nice run from his inner gate. While GRACIE MAY will get a nice run from barrier one and goes in for fourth. Interesting to watch the market on the Adam Durrant-trained pair DISAGREEABLE and FRIARMAN, who are both making their debuts.

Tips: 12-3-5-9
Suggested Bet: (12) INCOMING TIDE should give you a nice run for your money at an each-way price.

We have been tracking the progress of BERGANTINA ever since her impressive debut win here last April, when winning a competitive maiden that has proven to be a reasonable form reference since. The Steve Wallace-prepared mare produced a sound return to racing here on December 6 and we’re confidence she can bounce off that first-up run and produce a peak performance second up against this opposition. Jumps from barrier four and BERGANTINA makes each-way appeal in an open finish to the day. MODERN TOUCH will enjoy the run of the race jumping from barrier two and was only beaten a long head in a competitive Class 1 Handicap here on December 6. Forget SHEEZ OUR HOLLY went around last start when she seemed to have ‘one of those days’ and she is capable of running a cheeky race on her best form, while the ever-consistent DAISY EXPRESS finally cracked it for a maiden win at Northam last start and is a must for your First Fours. Look out for an improved showing from THE FLIRT at his second start for the Justin Warwick stable.

Tips: 9-15-13-14
Suggested Bet: We have a bit of time for (9) BERGANTINA. Have something on each-way to finish the day.
