Quality filly Showy Chloe showed her class with a dominant win in yesterday’s listed $100,000 TABtouch-Western Australian Breeders’ Classic (Race 7-1400m).

The Jason Pateman-trained daughter of Alfred Nobel was one of the State’s best two-year-olds last season when winning the Group 3 WA Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) and placing in the Group 2 Karrakatta Plate (1200m), and she claimed the second black-type victory of her nine-start career in yesterday’s listed Classic.

Ridden to perfection by champion jockey William Pike, Showy Chloe loomed large on the turn and gradually wore down game local Cone Bay in the straight to score going away by a length (watch replay below), with Pushin’ Shapes a further three-quarter length away in third.

Showy Chloe, who has now pocketed over $338,000 in stakes and bonuses, will have an opportunity to bank more black-type should she progress on to the listed $100,000 Raconteur Stakes (1500m) at Ascot on Saturday March 26.
