The rapidly improving Randy Tan leads the Horseland Bunbury Autumn Apprentice Series by four points with three Bunbury Turf Club meetings remaining in season 2105/16.
The Malaysian born 24-year-old, who is indentured to former champion jockey now trainer Stephen ‘S.J. Miller, has booted home two winners and two third placings from 17 rides since the Series commenced on March 13, with seven points being awarded for each win, five points for each second and three points for each third.
Heading into tomorrow’s April 14 raceday, Tan’s 20-point total sees him sit four clear on Bunbury-based apprentice Fiona Bell, with Clint Johnston-Porter a further point away in third place.
Tan has been booked on six mounts tomorrow, while Bell and Johnston-Porter have seven and six rides respectively.
