Beautifully bred three-year-old Mississippi Delta will be flying under the radar when making a low-key debut in maiden company at Thursday’s Bunbury Turf Club meeting.
The half-sister to the outstanding 2014 Railway Stakes winning Elite Belle (pictured) will be lining up in Thursday’s $15,000 Register For Hot FM Fashions On The Fields Maiden (Race 4-1410m), having caught the eye when winning at the Lark Hill trials on October 3.
The Grant and Alana Williams-trained filly was ridden by William Pike when coming from last at the top of the straight to rail through and score impressively in Heat 14 of the day, and Pike will again be on board when the daughter of High Chaparral steps out for the first time on Thursday.
Mississippi Delta, by the same sire as champions So You Think and (It’s A) Dundeel, is one of four impeccably-bred Peters Investments owned three-year-olds racing at Bunbury, as their powerhouse operation’s annual spring roll-out continues.
Fresh from emerging stars King River and Heart Starter posting a winning double for the cerise and white at Bunbury’s October 12 season opener, Peters Investments also has first starters Truly Rare and Very Tempting, and recent maiden winner Sky Atlas stepping out on Thursday.
Truly Rare and Sky Atlas were both bred Peters Investments, while Redoute’s Choice filly Very Tempting was a $420,000 purchase at the 2015 Gold Coast Magic Millions yearling sale.
