United Crane Hire Pty Ltd is one of the largest privately owned, locally based crane hire companies operating outside of the Perth Metropolitan area. The Company was established in August 2000 although our history can be traced much further back.
In 1975 Bell Basic Industries brought it’s crane and transport fleet to Bunbury, operating in the south west for many years. A change in company direction resulted in the crane division being sold to Uniway Pty ltd in 1989. After successfully building up a strong client base, Uniway underwent internal restructuring and the Bunbury operations along with its machines and operators was sold and United Crane Hire Pty Ltd was born.
United Crane Hire continued to thrive and expand when in January 2002 we purchased the Brambles WA Picton depot along with its experienced operators and staff and the Head Office was moved to the current premises at Lot 10, South West Highway, Picton. This was followed in March 2002 by the acquisition of Golden West Crane Hire and in July 2004 we saw operations expand to our Perth Hazelmere depot. In April 2005 we were the proud winners of the SW Small Business Award for a company with 20-50 employees and was also awarded the IT Award for our technical innovations in our machines and administration division and also went on to became finalists in the Telstra 2005 Small Business Awards. In April 2006 the then acting General Manager Jim Lund bought all financial interests in United Crane Hire and continues to expand and operate the business with a very modern and “hands-on” approach.
We take much pride in the fact that many of our clients have been with us since the early days of Bell Basic Industries, an association which we hope will continue for many years to come.
United Crane Hire is an integral part of the development of the South West providing craneage to such companies as BHP Billiton Worsley Alumina, Wesfarmers Premier Coal, Griffin Coal, Doral Mining, Thiess and CBI Constructors and as such is committed to providing the most professional, reliable and safe service available.
Our conveniently located metropolitan depot in Hazelmere, northwest of Perth, also operates under this philosophy, servicing our Perth-based clients.
